There
are several free “self-support” resources available to ACS
customers, many of which are shipped right on the AutoEDMS product
CD. Other resources
are located on the ACS Tech Support website and accessible 24 x 7
x 365, where you won’t need a password or support agreement.
Our
goal is to help our customers help themselves whenever possible.

Note: As
the first step of troubleshooting a problem with AutoEDMS on
any system, we encourage you to run the AutoEDMS
Update Utility. This
will make sure you have the latest version of AutoEDMS with
any current file updates and fixes that have been released
to date. For
more information, see “Updating
AutoEDMS”. |
The
AutoEDMS system includes a number of reference materials and
online manuals, all of which can be accessed from the AutoEDMS
InfoCenter. This
online documentation should be the first
place customers look for answers to their AutoEDMS questions.
|
The
AE InfoCenter can
be run before
AutoEDMS installation via the program CD (just insert the CD
and pick “Info”).
After installation, you can run the AE InfoCenter
from a shortcut located in the AutoEDMS program group in
Windows.
|
The
online documentation in the AE InfoCenter includes the following:
-
Release
Notes - The “Opening
Message” section in the AE InfoCenter includes a link to the
most current Release
Notes document installed in your AutoEDMS system.
This document contains the latest information about
recent updates and known issues, and it should be one of the
first documents you review when trying to resolve an issue or
problem with your AutoEDMS system.
-
Online
Manuals -
The “Documentation” section in the AE
InfoCenter includes the following online manuals:
-
Before
You Start…Things You Need To Know
-
User’s
Manual
-
Setup
& Administration Manual
-
Customization
& Development Manual
-
API
(ACL) Programmer’s Reference Manual
The
online manuals contain a wealth of “how to” information for
AutoEDMS users, system administrators, and developers.
There are also several error message listings and
troubleshooting tips sections contained in the manuals.
Updates
to the online AutoEDMS manuals are delivered along with AutoEDMS
program updates via the AutoEDMS
Update Utility (Internet update).
For more information on the Update Utility, refer to Updating
AutoEDMS on this website, and to the online AutoEDMS
Setup & Administration Manual.
The ACS
Technical Support WebSite is the most comprehensive, up-to-date
